Over the years, I have been privileged to work with a wide variety of clients, from young people wanting a ‘smart start’, to multi-generational high net worth families. These experiences have shown me that financial planning can be very complex, but the process doesn’t have to be intimidating or overwhelming.

I began working in the financial services industry in 2000, earned an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2001, and became a CFP® professional in 2006.  In 2005, I began developing a financial education non-profit organization, Common Cents Financial Literacy, Inc. to help guide young people toward an independent and responsible financial future. It now has a second program focused on workplace financial education, and has hired a Program Director! Additionally, I served as an adjunct Finance instructor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 2014 - 2017.

While my professional life is solely focused on personal finance, I actually don’t believe it’s all about the money!  I believe that we need to be good stewards of the resources we have and we will be able to achieve more for ourselves and for others if we are thoughtful and well prepared for the future.

Having a solid financial plan is about giving you the peace of mind to enjoy all the things that are important to you.

  • Passed a rigorous comprehensive exam (historical pass rate of 55-60%
  • Completed a required 30 hours of continuing education hours bi-annually
